Who we are

At Church of the Messiah:

• Our mission is to “help ordinary people be confident, joyful disciples of Jesus Christ,” with the vision of “building a prayerful Bible-teaching evangelical church in the heart of the city with a heart for the city (and the world)”.

• We are an evangelical Anglican church, a member of the Anglican Network in Canada and part of the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans.

• We seek to be a biblically-faithful and orthodox church within the Anglican Way of following Jesus.

• We have a great heart for student ministry, and our proximity to the University of Ottawa challenges us to get out and build witnessing relationships with students! Church of the Messiah’s college & careers group, The House, is active both on and off campus.

• We have a passion for missions. We are happy to support long-term missionaries to Central Asia and Thailand, and initiatives right here in Ottawa. We currently support St. Joseph’s Supper Table and Urban Christian Outreach.

• We have a healthy representation of all ages and life demographics, from children and families to students, singles and seniors, and everyone in between.
